Industry Voice to Government
The AHA is one of Australia’s most prominent industry lobby groups, which represents and protects the financial and political interests of hotels throughout ACT. In particular, activities as a lobby group include:
- Maintaining a close working relationship with Members of Parliament and Government departments.
- Lobbying federal and territory governments and the public service to promote the interest of the hotel industry.
- To monitor proceedings and make submissions to both Territory and Federal Governments to change, oppose or support specific legislation.
- To co-ordinate meetings with local police, liquor licensing, health, tourism and other government agencies.
- Monitor more general issues such as tax, road safety, health, food and local government.

- AHA National Almanac
- Regular bulletins and newsletters detailing latest developments on legislation, tax, industrial relations and other industry services and issues.
